How to upgrade...
Before you begin:
Download the upgrade file and save it on your hard disk.
The Camera server must be installed on an Ethernet the network using TCP/IP, see User’s manual or
Quick Reference Guide.
Make sure to take notes of your application/layout and other settings prior to upgrading since these
settings may be lost during upgrade.
Important Note: You must be at the command prompt
and in the directory that contains the Upgrade File.
Example: C:\Axis\2100\2_10\
- Open a ftp connection to the unit you want to upgrade, from a command prompt.
(I.e. you cannot use a ftp-program for this!)
- Login as root. The default password for the root user is pass unless changed by the user.
You must be logged in as the root user to flash the unit.
- Change to binary transfer mode by typing bin and push the enter key.
- Type hash and push the enter key. This will allow you to see the flash in progress.
- Type the command put XXX.YYY flash_all and push the enter key. Change XXX.YYY to the name of the file you have downloaded and decompressed. Typically
2100_210.bin or axis2100.bin.
- Wait for the flash load to finish, this may take 1-10 minutes.
- Your unit will automatically restart using the new firmware.
- Reconfigure your settings.
